Summary of selling and advertising hazardous products

There are a number of rules on selling and advertising hazardous products, including:

  • the requirement not to make misleading claims on the label or SDS
  • the requirement to provide information on the hazards of the product prior to sale, particularly for distance selling to consumers

There is also an entire regulation, the Prior Informed Consent Regulation dedicated to the import and export of certain types of chemicals, which should be complied with if you sell chemicals which are within scope of the PIC regulation.
