EUH classification sequence
EUH Statements are a not a consistent group of instructions. Some are hazard classifications, and others provide information (e.g.that an SDS is available on request). This means that the EUH statements are classifiable in different ways, and also that more than one may apply to your product.
The sequence for EUH Statement classification is:
- Identify whether the product has been classified for CHIP, if so, check the R phrases to see if any translate into EUH statements; if not, classify the EUH statements based on CHIP from first principles
- Check the CLP-GHS hazards to see if the product may be classifiable as toxic by eye contact, or corrosive to the respiratory tract
- Work through the list of EUH statements applicable to mixtures with specific components (or substances with impurities), to see if any apply
- Identify whether EUH210, Safety Data Sheet available on request is applicable
- If the product is a Plant Protection Product, identify whether EUH401 applies (To avoid risks to human health and the environment, comply with the instructions for use).

To help you with this process, we have compiled a screening questionnaire to identify which types of EUH statements might apply to your product, and 7 associated classification forms:
- Screening questionnaire for EUH Statements
- EUH Form A Classifying old CHIP hazards by read across
- EUH Form B Classifying old CHIP hazards from first principles
- EUH Form C Classifying toxic by eye contact
- EUH Form D Corrosive to the Respiratory Tract
- EUH Form E Classifying Mixtures containing Substances
- EUH Form F Identifying SDS available on request products v1.1 10-08-2017
- EUH Form G Identifying Plant Protection Products
Alternatively, if you prefer to just work through the process in one step, we have produced two summary forms, one where you have the CHIP classification of the product, and one where you don’t have it:
Classifying EUH hazards based on CHIP classification v1.1 10-08-2017
Classifying EUH hazards by hazardous properties v1.1 10-08-2017
